As a person who has, let’s just say struggled with their weight since they got out of high school, I feel that I am more than qualified to give you guys a little insight as to why even though you are on a diet you are perhaps still putting on weight or maybe your weight loss is not going as fast as it could be. Now I am speaking here from personal experience and these are all things that I personally had to overcome on my weight loss journey.
Keep A Strict Food Diary To Prevent Overeating And Putting Weight On
Write down every single thing that you put into your mouth! Ok so if you eat a bug while you are out running you do not have to put that, but every item of food you eat, write it down. You see I was on a healthy diet and I even had a diary. The problem with my food diary was that I would only write down the healthy food I was eating. I would sneak a cookie here, something from the break room vending machine there, a couple of glasses of wine and so much more and not write them down. Now the problem with this was that really all I was doing was cheating myself. So say I had a candy bar on Monday and did not write it down. By Friday I would have forgotten about it, but when I looked in my diary I would see that I had not eaten a candy bar this week and eat another!
Your Weight Loss And Dieting Is Your Responsibility
I have been a member of a few weight loss classes in my time. And let me tell you that the amount of people who will blame the person taking the class and the rest of the world for them not losing weight is just crazy. The buck stops with you and you only I am afraid. It’s your responsibility to make sure that you are eating the right food for your body. It’s your responsibility to walk past the snack isle at the super market and it’s your responsibility to exercise. This may sound harsh, but at the end of the day there are people, books and websites that can help you lose weight, but it’s up to you to put all that information into practice.
Stick To Your Diet When Eating With Friends
Every Friday after work I would go for dinner with a few work buddies. It was always a great time, but I would always feel pressured into eating something that was not good for me like a cake for example and having more to drink that I should do. Now my friends were not egging me on because they wanted me to fail losing weight. They simply just thought nothing of it. I am sure many of you guys will have friends who simply cannot comprehend how hard it is to lose weight. Just stick to your guns and order something healthy and skip the cake!
Even On A Diet You Need To Exercise To Put Weight Off
Now eating right will cause you to lose weight, but if you want to speed things up then you really need to hit the gym. Or if the idea of going to the gym sends shivers down your spine then you can always get some DVDs or home exercise equipment and work out from home. Diet will let you lose weight up to a point and then you need to give your body a little boost by working out. Also if you lose a ton of weight then you may have lose skin. Exercise can help you in toning your lose skin.
