As a self-confessed yoyo dieter I am fully aware that when you are trying to lose weight there are like a million things that can get in your way. You try your best, but one little slip can have you curled up in the corner with a box of donuts… and trust me I know! So with that being said today I want to share with you guys some of my, I do not want to say advice. Think of this more as one person who struggled with weight loss giving you their insight onto things that tripped them up during their diet.
Thing In The Way Of Your Weight Loss : Your Friends & Family Who “Mean Well”
Oh my goodness I swear to god it sometimes felt like my friends and family were going out of their way to make sure my diet would fail! Of course this was not the case at all, they just would not think before putting a plate of biscuits right in front of my nose. Or organizing a night out at a place that is just full to the brim of stuff that is bad for you. And the one that happened the majority of the time to me was when we would be out for lunch or whatever and they would be having something like a cheese burger and a shake while I would be looking over the salads. “it’s only one meal” was a phrase I would hear over and over again.
Thing In The Way Of Your Weight Loss : False “Good For You” Foods
Man no one told me that dieting required some extensive homework if you really want to achieve your dream weight loss. I pretty much thought that when I did my weekly food shopping that anything with the words diet or low fat was free range. I was still knocking back multiple diet sodas and eating a ton of low fat pizza and French fries and just a whole bunch of other stuff that was about as good for me as a bullet to the head!
Make sure you get yourself online and make notes on what is good for you and what is not. And please do not set your diet back weeks like I did by thinking everything with Diet on the label is good for you.
Thing In The Way Of Your Weight Loss : Your Self
By far the main thing that will stand in your way of you wanting to drop those pounds is the person who is looking at you in the mirror each and every morning. Now unless you have one of those fancy mirrors that is a doorway into an alternate dimension. The person I am talking about is you. The main thing that will stop you losing weight is yourself. You can blame your friends, your family, your pets and even the government, but the fact is your weight loss is all down to you.
You are the one who needs to make the decision to walk past that cake shop on your way to work. You are the one who needs to ignore the vending machine at work. And you are the one who needs to motivate yourself to get your butt up of the sofa to go and exercise. It’s all about you! It can be tough and you will slip every now and again, but just dust yourself off and try again.
