Today I am not going to offer you any of my unasked for advice. Nope today I am having a little bit of fun and looking at some of the things that my kids have put me through over the years. As much as I love my kids there are times when I want to pull my hair out! But at the end of the day I would not want them another way and I am sure you guys are the same. So let’s have a fun little look at some of the things that us parents and you soon to be parents go through!
The Frantic “Where Are They”
Even the most obsessive parent has to have had this happen to them at least once. I am talking about when you are out shopping, for a walk, the park or whatever and one second your kid is there by your side or clearly in your sight. You turn your head for not even a second and boom they have developed lightning like quick speed and they are gone! It’s like they wait for you to drop your guard and then they are off. Even though they will be just a few feet away that moment of panic is one felt by all parents and I still feel it to this day even with my older kids.
The Mastering Of Using The Toilet
I am not talking about the actual potty training here, but the first few weeks and months after your child starts to use the proper toilet. Let me tell you this if you think changing diapers is bad you have not seen anything yet! I am talking about little boys weeing all over the toilet, wall, floor and somehow even the bathroom door! And then there are times when they go number 2 and do not wipe properly! Trust me you still need baby wipes even as your kids get into their teens!
The Dance Across The Room When They Have Something They Should Not
There are times when you look at your kid and then you see that somehow they have managed to get hold of something they should not! One time for example we were in the living room, my youngest son was crawling around on his play mat having a good time. A few seconds later I hear him laughing and he has somehow pulled the power cable out of the DVD player. Rather than alarming him I tried to calmly dance over there and take it from him.
Wanting To Call The Goblin King To Take Them Away
Ok so that title only makes sense if you have seen the movie Labyrinth. Anyway there are times when your kids as babies will cry, cry, poop, maybe be sick and then cry some more and there is nothing you can do to stop them. It is just brutal and you pray for just a few minutes peace! And as they get older and start to develop their own personalities they will push you in other ways. Do not get me wrong I would not change my kids for the world, but there are times when they will really push their luck and test my patience to the max! ah kids, you gotta love them….. most of the time.
Being Full Of Fear When They Go To School
When my first son went to school he could not have been any more excited…… I on the other hand was a total nervous wreck. I was so worried for him, but I have no clue as to why. I was worried he would fall, get hurt, not make any friends, have kids be mean to him, not like his lunch and a million other things went through my mind. Honestly I have no clue as to why. It was such a relief when he came home and told me how “awesome” school was.
