Losing weight is far from easy and with all our bodies being different, what worked well for me may not work very well for you. Knowing what to do and what not to do when you start out on your diet and you are all motivated to lose weight can be very tough. If you are trying to lose weight on your own without the aid of a weight loss group, then there can be a little bit of trial and error involved. Well, to make it a little easier for you guys I want to give you a few things that you need to avoid when trying to lose weight.
Then Avoid The Snack Aisle
You want to avoid the snack aisle when you are grocery shopping like the plague! I cannot stress this enough. It is so tempting to just put one Hersey Bar or maybe a three pack of Snickers in your shopping cart and think that it’s just a one off, it will not do any harm. Well, yes it will do harm, it can totally screw up your weight loss. So say no to things like potato chips, candy bars, popcorn and whatever else your grocery store snack aisle has. You see all these tasty treats have things in them that make you crave more! So one is never enough.
And Stay Away From Salt & Sugar…
Salt and sugar are pretty dangerous when trying to lose weight. But they are not dangerous for the reasons you may think. You see consuming a large amount of salt and sugar can lead to you gaining water weight. Water weight makes you look larger than you really are and while it may not sound like a big deal, it can be really demotivating when you put on a few pounds of water weight. And getting demotivated when trying to lose weight can lead to you falling off the wagon and quitting your diet.
… And Diet Soda …
Just because they say diet on the can does not make them good. Let’s just say that in a day you drink a 20oz bottle of diet soda. If you replaced this with water then over the course of a year you could lose a whopping 35 pounds. Stopping drinking soda can be really tough, but if you want to be serious about losing weight then you need to avoid soda.
… And Fat Fried Foods …
Is there something that has not been deep fat fried yet? I mean I was at a carnival last year and they were selling deep fried Snickers bars! Deep fat fried foods are just bursting at the seams with calories. Some people will say that certain things are ok deep fat fried. But to me it is just best to cut out all deep fat fried foods altogether.
… And Monster Burgers …
These days it seems like every restaurant is trying to outdo the rest by offering artery clogging, fat filled, monster burgers. It’s like people are going out of their way to see how much fat they can shove into a burger bun, while these may have many tomatoes, lettuce and perhaps even onions. Do not eat one of these huge burgers if you are trying to lose weight. The calories that these contain are just astounding!
Avoid Fat Filled Appetizers
When you go out to eat it’s always best to skip the appetizer. In many restaurants an appetizer can be as much as you would eat for a normal meal! Things like cheese, pepperoni, garlic bread, bacon and god knows what else will just fill you up before your main meal and result in you overeating, consuming tons of calories and feeling bloated and horrible after… It’s not worth it!
