Ok so maybe the jumping out of bed is a little bit too far. But I am sure many of you were like me. The alarm clock would go off and I would hit the snooze button about five times before slamming the darn thing off the wall. And even when I got up it would take a while for me to be really “awake”. Well today I have a few tips that will make you not want to hit the snooze button and get your butt out of bed and ready to start the day!
Open Your Curtains When You Go To Sleep
I know that this sounds flat out weird and may not be for everyone, but hear me out. You see the idea here is that when the sun starts shining you will be woken up by it. This is a far better and more relaxing and natural way to be woken up rather than by the beeping of an alarm. The sun also is a great way to get a hit of vitamin D! So yeah I know this may not be for everyone, but if you do have trouble getting your butt out of bed give it a try.
Drink 1 (ONE) Glass Of Water Before Bed
Notice I said one glass of water! This is something that many ancient civilizations would do to wake themselves up in the morning. By drinking one glass of water before bed, you can bet that when you first wake in the morning you will need to go to the bathroom. This will stop you rolling over and falling back to sleep. Now if you drink more than one glass chances are you will wake up just a few hours later.
Low Carb Food Or Drink Before Bed
One of the reasons that people are often groggy and lack energy when they first wake up in the morning is not because they are lazy, but because they have gone a great deal of time without eating anything. Make sure it’s something low in carbs so you are not full of energy and can’t sleep. A little bit of cottage cheese or a glass of milk is a great way to get some energy in your body, but not too much right before bed.
Play Some Awesome Tunes To Wake You Up
I think that most people these days will use their phone to wake them up. One way to get yourself pumped up first thing in the morning is to have a song that you love and set that as your alarm clock. If you are into heavy metal then I am not sure that is the best way to wake up, but whatever you are into give it a try.
Do A Little Exercise
Get out of bed, bust out some sit ups, press ups, jumping jacks or whatever. Doing a little exercise when you wake up gets the blood pumping, your mind thinking right and in general gets you ready for the day ahead. Some people will always try to get their workout in pretty much as soon as they wake up!
Cup Of Joe
While it’s not a natural way to bring yourself out of your sleepy state. If all else fails then go to your kitchen and grab yourself a nice big cup of coffee to give yourself a little morning pick me up!
