Witchcraft! I can hear you all saying, but I swear that this is all true my friends. There are plenty of foods out there that will actually require more calories to eat and “process” in your body than they actually contain. This makes many of these the perfect food to keep in little zip locked bags so you can eat them as a snack. If you are on a healthy eating kick then you need to add a few of these to your shopping list.
Now before I started to eat healthy and try to look after myself never in a million years would I have chowed down on celery for a snack. The reason that celery is so good for you and the perfect little snack when you have the munchies mid-way through the day is that around ¾ of celery is made up from water. Celery as well as filling you up and keeping the snacks at bay is also great for you in other ways such as being a rich sours of vitamin A, C and K.
Grapefruit is just awesome! First of all it is just so tasty and it feels like you are eating just a ton of sugar as it tastes so sweet and good. But the fact of the matter is that around 60 percent of grapefruit is made up from just water and the rest of it is the good kinds of fiber and roughage. As well as using more calories than it contains, grapefruit has also been known to help keep away heart disease and also speed up your metabolism.
Another delicious fruit right here. Watermelon as well as tasting amazing contains pretty much no fat and hardly any calories. It is also jam packed with B vitamins as well. Watermelon actually is just great for your body in many different ways. As well as being good for you one of the added benefits of watermelon is that it can be served in just so many ways. You can mix it with other fruit to make up a fruit salad, cut it into little cubes for a snack or go old school and eat a great big chunk!
Apples & Oranges
Any house that is trying to get into a more healthy way of eating, simple must have a bowl of apples and oranges so that you and the rest of your family always have a healthy snack close by. If I can add chili peppers to something that I am making you can bet your bottom dollar that I will do it! These may be an acquired taste and may take up a few meals to build up a tolerance to them. The health benefits and the way they help your body are well worth it. Chili peppers have this thing in them called capsaicin which will give your metabolism a turbo charge which will make you burn more calories for a while after you have eaten them! Add into this that chili peppers are very low in calories anyway and you have a real winner.
