Museum and fun may not be two words that some people will put together. But today I am looking at some of the best and most fun museums that are in the good ol US of A. The idea of this is not to look at deep and meaningful natural history, but instead we are looking at museums that are more fun and based on entertainment. I am sure a few of you will be surprised that some of these museums even exist.
The Walt Disney Family Museum (San Francisco)
Now here is a magical place and while it is not officially affiliated with Disney, it’s still a Disney fans dream. This place really celebrates the life of Walt Disney and looks at his triumphs and the things that did not work out too well also. From Mickey Mouse to more modern Disney characters this is a pretty magical place that really gives you an insight to how the Disney empire was made and just what an imaginative person Walt Disney was. They have various exhibits on during the year, a theatre and even the opportunity for you to learn a little about animation.
The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame (New York)
Really, pro wrestling? I can hear some of you say. But the fact of the matter is pro wrestling is one of the longest running forms of family entertainment and this amazing place keeps its legacy alive with wrestlers from 1892 all the way to the modern wrestlers of today. It’s a wonderfully designed place and all your old favorites will be represented here such as Bret Hart, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Macho Man Randy Savage. It’s pretty amazing to see just how much of an impact pro wrestling has had on the world.
Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (Cleveland)
The idea of this amazing museum to educate and inspire people through rock and roll! They have collected just an incredible array for musical memorabilia ranging from rock icons like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Bon Jovi, The Ramones and pretty much everyone in between. There are many great exhibits and fantastic displays. If you are a fan of rock and roll then this place really is a dream trip! Some of the pieces of merchandise, concert programs, and memorabilia would have been thrown out in the garbage or lost forever if it was not for this place!
Field Museum (Chicago)
Ok so I really did not want to include any “normal” museums here, but the Field Museum should be called the dinosaur museum as it has the best dinosaur exhibit in the whole USA. There are some who argue that it’s the best in the entire world! There is just an awe inspiring display of the land that time forgot and it’s amazing to see so many amazing fossils. The pride of the Field Museum though is a T-Rex called Sue, Sue is the largest T-Rex in the entire world!
The Hollywood Museum (Hollywood)
The Hollywood Museum is the official museum of Hollywood and they have over 10,000 different artifacts from the golden era of movies all the way up to modern hits as well. They have props, costumes and many other things that will just blow your mind. There are some really cool exhibits here as well such as the lower levels of the museum that are home to a replica of Hannibal Lectors jail cell from Silence Of The Lambs. If you have a love for movies then this is a place that needs to be on your bucket list
