In today’s fast paced world, healthy eating is something that seems like it’s more of a chore than its worth. But for those of you who do want to start eating more healthy, when you jump online your head can explode at all the information that is one there. One site tells you something is good, another tells you it’s not! It’s never ending, but today I want to give you guys a few healthy eating myths that while popular have been proven to be false!
False Food Theory : Eggs Will Clog Your Arteries With Cholesterol
This is a weird one that has gotten out of hand over the past few years. While yes, eggs do contain cholesterol, many studies have been done and shown that they do not contain enough to cause a person any substantial damage. As a matter of fact it has been said that a healthy person can have an egg a day and not have any problems at all! So while it’s not a good idea to eat an egg omelet each and every day, eggs are not the artery cloggers that they have been branded as.
False Food Theory : High Fructose Corn Syrup Is Terrible For You & Worse Than Sugar
There are actual products on super market shelves that will have right on the packaging that they do not contain any high fructose corn syrup. Now I am not saying that things that have high fructose corn syrup in them are actually good for you, but studies have shown that there is pretty much no difference at all between this and good old regular table sugar. Truth be told both table sugar and high fructose corn syrup should be had sparingly on a healthy diet, but do not drive yourself crazy looking for products that do not have high fructose corn syrup in them as it’s no worse than normal sugar!
False Food Theory : Carbs Make You Fat
This one just won’t go away and people who do a carb free diet do lose weight… and then most of the time pile it back on as soon as they start eating carbs again. Look, there are good carbs and there are bad carbs. Things like donuts and white bread are clearly going to make you gain weight if you keep eating them. But to knock out all carbs from your diet is taking away things like whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables. Things that your body needs. Carbs can make you put on weight, but then again you do not need to know about carbs to know that a big glazed donut is not good for you!
False Food Theory : Junk Food Is Worse For You Late At Night
I hate to say this to you, but no matter what time of day you eat that Hersey bar you are consuming the same amount of calories. It does not matter if you eat it at 3pm and then go for a run or eat it at say 11pm and go straight to bed. You are putting the exact same amount of calories in your body. Eating healthy can be done at any time so do not think that to get the best benefits from your food you need to eat it all by 6pm. Likewise if you are allowing yourself a treat of say a chocolate bar once a week, then do not force yourself to eat it at an inconvenient time.
